SOME WARNING SIGNS OF DYSLEXIA
In Pre-School:
- Chronic ear infections;
- Delayed speech;
- Left vs. right confusion;
- Difficulty learning to tie shoes;
- A close relative with dyslexia
In Elementary School:
Includes previous symptoms, plus:
- Terrible spelling;
- Letter or number reversals continuing past the end of first grade;
- Extreme difficulty learning cursive;
- Slow, choppy, inaccurate reading;
- Difficulty telling time on a clock with hands;
- Extremely messy bedroom or backpack;
- Can't memorize multiplication tables
In High School:
Includes previous symptoms, plus:
- Extremely poor written expression;
- Limited vocabulary;
- Unable to master a foreign language;
- Poor grades in many classes;
- Difficulty reading printed music;
- May drop out of high school
